    This event has been organized under the aegis of the United Nations Conference on the Oceans, as part of the side-events taking place on site. It was open to all participants in the United Nations Oceans Conference who had been accredited to attend. The event focused on the need for regional cooperation to achieve Goal 14, as well as on efforts already underway. At the heart of the event were the 13 overseas countries and territories of the European Union.
