Assessment of blue and green financing for the Falkland Islands to enable adaptation and mitigation to climate change

          This GO facility plans to frame progress towards ecological resilience in the Falkland Islands, notably by creating new economic opportunities such as carbon sequestration through peatland restoration, protection of Kelp forests, or renewable energy production, pursuing a goal of carbon neutrality (to offset the transport and fishing industries in particular), and generating financial income through carbon offsets and carbon credit trading with other countries.
          To this end, the facility seeks to obtain technical and expert advice on the accessibility of financing mechanisms and to estimate, on the basis of assumptions adapted to the local context, the financial potential of the mechanisms identified above.
