•           The Territory of the Wallis and Futuna Islands is fully committed to sustainable development, in particular the protection of biodiversity and the preservation and enhancement of its resources. In this particularly remote territory, which is heavily dependent on imports, the development of eco-construction, including eco-renovation, is an important priority on which local authorities agree to reduce the environmental impact of buildings and increase the Territory's energy autonomy.

  •           The action proposed by the Territory aims to contribute to the development of eco-construction in Wallis and Futuna, and in particular to improve the energy and environmental performance of buildings, especially those financed by public funds.
The general aim of the mission is to contribute to the development of eco-construction in Wallis and Futuna, as a contribution to the Territory's energy and environmental transition, bearing in mind that eco-construction means optimizing new or existing buildings in terms of energy sobriety (eco-gestures...), energy efficiency (system efficiency), bioclimatic design (solar protection, vegetation, natural ventilation, insulation...), use of sustainable and local materials, integration of renewable electricity and reduction of carbon emissions.

  •           The expected results of the mission are:

    1. Awareness-raising tools in favor of eco-construction specific to Wallis and Futuna are produced and appropriated by the Territory's stakeholders.
    2. Energy performance and bioclimatism criteria for the construction and renovation of buildings financed by public funds in Wallis and Futuna are defined and appropriated by the Territory's actors.
    3. An eco-renovation project for a public building in Wallis and Futuna, with ambitious eco-construction objectives and likely to serve as an example for the Territory, is drawn up.
