The energy transition in European and British overseas countries and territories

The OCTs, while still often largely dependent on fossil fuels, are now all committed to decarbonizing their economies and achieving energy autonomy.

In particular, by seeking to facilitate the deployment of renewable energy or to improve the energy efficiency of the most energy-intensive sectors (building and transport in particular), the OCTs are seeking on the one hand to reduce their carbon footprint and greenhouse gas emissions, in order to limit their impact on the climate, and on the other hand to create wealth.

The energy transition can indeed be a source of economic growth and development.
