•           On June 11, 2025, Day 3 of #UNOC3, the UN Media Center at UNOC3 hosted a press conference organized by Island Innovation, in partnership with the GO programme. At the heart of this event was the issue of sub-national island jurisdictions' coalition for ocean and climate preservation initiatives.
Mr. James Ellsmoore, Managing Director of Island Innovation, introduced the conference, then gave the floor successively to Ms. Vanessa Toré, Director of External Economic Cooperation at Curaçao's Ministry of Economic Development, Mr. Jérémie Katidjo-Monnier, Minister of Environment and Ocean for the Government of New Caledonia, and Green Overseas Program Director Ahab Downer.

  •           Just a few days after the launch of the sub-national island jurisdictions coalition by Island Innovation in Nevis, in the presence of Lina Tode (Caribbean regional coordinator for the Green Overseas Program), this press conference enabled its participants to highlight the need for sub-national island jurisdictions and OCTs to stand together and form a coalition to guarantee the conservation of marine environments and act for the climate.
Each participant stressed the importance of international cooperation programs like the GO Programme, particularly for the efforts made by its team and beneficiaries across the 3 oceans to collaborate continuously, share each other's resources, and the progress made together in favor of climate resilience, energy transition, and access to finance for these island territories.

  •           The GO platform was also honored at this United Nations press conference, for its usefulness to beneficiaries, and the importance it represents in terms of collecting data useful to all. Ahab Downer also highlighted the efforts made by the GO Program in Greenland, as part of a facility designed to support the development of an evidence-based territorial climate strategy that will provide Greenland with a rigorous trajectory aligned with the objectives of the Paris Agreement. Given the Arctic region's impact on global environmental dynamics, the Green Overseas Program is delighted to support efforts there to strengthen global climate resilience.
