• The GO Facility in the Cayman Islands recently received significant local media coverage following the launch of the first tools of the Cayman Islands Resilience Index (CIRI) and the Climate Investment Guidance Tool.

  • Three national media outlets – Cayman Compass, Cayman Independent and Cayman News Service – reported on this key milestone in the project, highlighting the importance of these new tools in supporting public decision-making in response to the challenges of climate change in the OCTs.

  • Developed by the Cayman Islands Ministry of Health, Environment, and Sustainable Development (MHES) with support from the Green Overseas Programme and Integrated Risk Management Associates (IRMA), CIRI is a digital platform based on more than 60 resilience indicators. It enables government agencies to assess the level of resilience of public policies, investment projects, and infrastructure in the face of climate risks.

The first pilot workshop, held in George Town in May 2026, brought together representatives from ministries, government agencies, and partner organizations. Participants were able to test the platform, share their feedback, and contribute to its improvement prior to its wider rollout.

This media coverage reflects the interest generated by this initiative and highlights the Green Overseas Programme’s contribution to developing innovative tools for implementing OCTs’ climate policies and strengthening the capacity of public institutions.

We warmly thank these media outlets for their interest and support in publicizing these actions.
